The final phase of the International Festival of the Arctic “The Taimyr attraction” will be organized at regional capital at 7-10 December this year the culture department of Taimyr administration reported. The festival started at July. The head of the cultural department Valentina Satskaya said that professional and amateur artistic groups will participate the festival as well as the authors and performers in different areas of art.
The applications for participation the organizing committee has already received from Hakassia, Tuva, Yamal and other northern regions. Also expected festival teams from United States, Canada, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland and Greenland.
In the days of the festival everyone will be able to join the culture of indigenous peoples from different countries. The master classes of throat singing, making national toys, bone carving, interior design will be organized. Within the festival will be organized also the conference "Cultural-educational model of Arctic ethnic development" as well as dance contests, exhibitions of books in the languages of the Taimyr peoples, game programs and documentary films.
December 10 will be organized the final competition of dance groups "After the Arctic Circle" and the festival gala concert "Art of the Arctic peoples in the treasury of ancient Taimyr."
The organizers say the Arctic festival it is kind of milestone of movement into the Arctic. It has an important cultural and historical significance, because support the idea of unity of Russian Arctic. The festival events, aimed to preserve and develop cultural identity and national traditions of the indigenous peoples of Taimyr, support the talented artists. The festival promotes indigenous culture among society of all ages.
